Arthroscopic Treatment of Septic Arthritis of Acromioclavicular Joint
Septic arthritis requires an early diagnosis and proper treatment to prevent the destruction of articular cartilage and joint contracture. This paper presents a rare case of septic arthritis of the acromioclavicular joint that was treated with arthroscopic debridement and resection of the distal clavicle.
متن کاملSeptic arthritis of the acromioclavicular joint: an uncommon location.
Septic pyogenic arthritis of the acromioclavicular joint is a rare entity that occurs in immunosuppressed patients or those with discontinuity of defense barriers. There are only 15 cases described in the literature. The diagnosis is based on clinical features and the isolation of a microorganism in synovial fluid or blood cultures. The evidence of arthritis by imaging (MRI, ultrasound or scint...
متن کاملArthroscopic anatomical reconstruction of the acromioclavicular joint.
Traditional techniques for restoration of a separated acromioclavicular joint are afflicted with various complications and often lead to recurrent dislocation. Lately, anatomic as well as minimally-invasive repair techniques with major focus on restoration of the coracoclavicular ligaments have been described for acromioclavicular joint reconstruction. We present a technique for an arthroscopic...
متن کاملAcromioclavicular Septic Arthritis and Sternoclavicular Septic Arthritis with Contiguous Pyomyositis
Acromioclavicular (AC) and sternoclavicular (SC) septic arthritis with contiguous pyomyositis are rare, especially in immunocompetent individuals. We report a case of septic AC joint with pyomyositis of the deltoid and supraspinatus muscles and a separate case with septic SC joint with pyomysitis of the sternocleidomastoid muscle. Both patients had similar presentations of infections with Staph...
